The Fairmont Collection
showcases Liberty Head double eagles—one of the most popular gold coin
specialties. Of the many issues minted from 1850 to 1907, fewer than a dozen
are major rarities. Offered here is a very wide selection—ideal if you are
beginning this series and equally important if you are filling in your “want
list.”
Richard Jewell, one of
America’s leading connoisseurs, is a familiar name as over the years we have
handled multiple consignments from him. This consignment features an impressive
selection of rare United States medals, with a focus on those created for the
Assay Commission. The 1905 Theodore Roosevelt inauguration medal by
Augustus Saint-Gaudens is one of the most famous and most desired in the
inaugural medal series. “Teddy” Roosevelt had a mind of his own and rejected
the official medal made by Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber. Beyond these
are the Assay Commission medals and other pieces—all ranging from very rare to
extremely rare.

Horatio Morgan Collection. Rarity and high quality are combined. Other
