On February 3, 2021, Stack’s Bowers Galleries will be
hosting the February Collectors Choice Online Auction. These online auctions offer
excellent numismatic items and give our bidders and consigners the chance to
move material in between our Showcase Auctions.
Among the highlights among the United States coins in the
sale are:
Lot
92036 — 1936 Buffalo Nickel. MS-65 (NGC). CAC–Gold Label. OH. This lot
comes with everything you could want: an old holder, a Gold CAC Sticker, and a brilliant
white high-grade coin. Worthy of solid bids from Buffalo nickel or type set collectors.
Lot
92119 — 1937 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. MS-67 (PCGS). Toned coins are
very popular lately, and this Walker is sure to impress. The obverse has some
streaky toning, but the reverse displays vivid orange and red coloration that
will make this coin a must-have for a toning connoisseur. The combination of
color and high grade means that this coin should attract premium bids.
Lot
92200 — 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-65+ PL (PCGS). Morgan dollars are a
great starting point for any new collector, but this lot will also appeal to
the seasoned collector as it is high grade, prooflike, and has great eye appeal
– all the bells and whistles. The surfaces are so reflective that the TrueView
image almost looks black and white.
Lot
92289 — 1856 Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. MS-62 (NGC). CAC. Here is a great
selection for a collection of quarter eagles. And, for those looking for coins
with pedigrees, this example can be traced to the Jules Reiver Collection, the
Paisley Acres Collection, and the Steve Studer Collection.
Lot
92315 — 1922 Grant Memorial Gold Dollar. Star. MS-65 (PCGS). While many
collectors focus on type sets of regular U.S. coins, a good concentration in
the hobby is on silver and gold early commemoratives. This 1922 Grant Memorial
Dollar with Star would be a great beginning or addition to your collection?
With a grade of MS-65, this lustrous example offers lovely Gem surfaces and is
solid for its grade.
