Thousands of World Coins to Be Presented at the Stack’s Bowers Galleries Official Auction of the ANA World’s Fair of Money

IRVINE, Calif. (July 25, 2014) — Stack’s Bowers Galleries is proud to serve as an official auctioneer of the American Numismatic Association’s World’s Fair of Money. Important rarities in ancient coins, world coins and paper money will command attention from around the world during this important event.

Starting Tuesday, August 5, at 10 a.m. (CT), Stack’s Bowers Galleries will showcase lots 1-694, commencing with world paper money and continuing with ancient coins and world coins from Afghanistan to Germany. Among the highlights crossing the block is an 1813 5 shillings known as a Holey Dollar from Australia, New South Wales, graded NGC VF-30.

World coins from Great Britain through Yugoslavia and mixed lots follow on Thursday, August 7, at 10 a.m. (CT), with lots 1000-1680. Russian coins from The George Gund III Collection are among the many rarities to be showcased that afternoon.
