IRVINE, Calif. (October 27, 2014) — Stack’s Bowers Galleries announced today that it is changing the date for its New York Americana Showcase and Rarities Night Auction to February 5-6, 2015.

Held at the Stack’s Bowers Galleries New York gallery at 110 West 57th Street in New York City, the Americana Sale features coins, tokens and medals from all eras of American history, ranging from the earliest issues to modern U.S. Mint commemoratives.

“In the past, our Americana sales have included some of the greatest rarities in all of numismatics, including the world-record sale of The Cardinal Collection, where the most prominent rarity, a 1794 Flowing Hair silver dollar, realized over $10 million — far and away a world record for any coin sold at auction,” said Q. David Bowers, founder of Stack’s Bowers Galleries.

“Our Americana Sales have become one of the greatest traditions in numismatics, eagerly awaited by collectors and drawing numerous participants,” said Brian Kendrella, president of Stack’s Bowers Galleries. “Our upcoming sale contains many noted highlights and rarities, as well as more affordable coins, and everything in between. This will be a great event for all collectors of American coinage.”

Lot viewing for the New York Americana Showcase and Rarities Night Auction begins in Irvine, Calif. at the Stack’s Bowers Galleries corporate headquarters January 19-28, 2015, and will continue in New York at the company’s auction gallery February 3-6, 2015. To consign U.S. coins, medals and tokens from colonial issues onward, contact a consignment specialist at 800.458.4646 (West Coast) or 800.566.2580 (East Coast) before December 5, 2014.
