Our Fall Maastricht Auction is shaping up to be an impressive sale, with a Canadian section that includes many rarities. One such rarity is this DC-28S Dominion of Canada 1925 500 Dollars Specimen in PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
The note is printed by CBNC, and features a Specimen overprint, serial numbers, and dual punch cancellations. The portrait of King George V at center is flanked by large die counters at opposing ends. The signature panel is in dark blue, with the same color coming off the top of the portrait in a rayed design. The back of the note consists of lathework and ten “500” counters in dark blue. This specimen is one of just two examples graded by PMG for the variety. PMG comments “Printer’s Annotation. Staple Holes”.
