Did you know that Stack’s Bowers Galleries’ November 2017 Baltimore
Auction features an impressive selection of mid-20th Century U.S. Mint
Sets, many of which have been certified intact by ANACS and Original Set
Verification (OSV)? Lots 3718, 3719, and 3720 offer sets from the first
three years of Mint Set distribution, starting in 1947. Additionally,
our Rarities Night session features a rare and intriguing 1946 “Mint
Set” in lot 10245, still sealed in an original cloth bag as shipped from
the Treasury Department. The U.S. Mint did not officially assemble and
distribute Mint Sets before 1947, though collectors were able to order
coins directly from the Treasury, which were shipped in cloth bags like
the offered example. Seldom did these bags remain unopened, making lot 10245 a true treasure! For collectors of Mint Sets or just pristine 20th
Century type coins, Stack’s Bowers Galleries’ November 207 Baltimore
Auction is going to be a significant and exciting event!
