At the recent World’s
Fair of Money—the annual American Numismatic Association convention—the Stack’s
Bowers Galleries team received many accolades and awards.
The Professional
Numismatists Guild held their annual banquet on Monday night, July 31.
Christine Karstedt was presented the Art Kagin Ambassador Award for
distinguished service as an advocate of numismatic goodwill.
The Numismatic Literary
Guild presented their annual awards for distinguished publications on Thursday
night, August 3. Headlining the list was the award for Best Auction
Catalog – Coins and Currency, awarded for the Stack’s Bowers Galleries
presentation of The D. Brent Pogue Collection, Part V. Dave Bowers received the
Numismatic Literary Guild award for Best Coin Article for a non-profit or club
numismatic publication for “125 Years of Collecting with the American
Numismatic Association.” He also received first place honors for the Heath Literary
Award for the same article as awarded by the ANA.
At the Annual American
Numismatic Association Banquet, on Friday night, August 5, Harvey G. Stack was
presented an award for 70 years of membership in the ANA.
