Stack’s Bowers Galleries will be launching the New Year with a fabulous auction event in conjunction with the 2023 New York International Numismatic Convention in New York City. It’s not too soon for you to make your travel plans to join us at the InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel for the dynamic convention, lot viewing and our exciting on-site live auction sessions.
Lot viewing will be held Monday, January 9 through Saturday, January 14 in the Vanderbilt Suite. The auction sessions are scheduled for Friday, January 13, Saturday, January 14, and Sunday, January 15, all starting at 6 PM ET in the Barclay Suite.
Featured collections include the Augustana Collection, well known for its incredible European rarities. Our January sale of items from this cabinet offers a second group of Czechoslovakia coinage, along with selections from Great Britain, Germany and Sweden. The Taraszka Collection brings to the auction block items from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, both circulating coins and medallic ducat-weight pieces. The Robert C. Knepper Collection showcases mostly German coinage displaying the “Wildman” motif. Part 5 of the Salton Collection will present a variety of material while the Sigma Collection features Russian Rubles and other select rarities, The Stendebach Collection showcases Mexican Portrait 8 Reales and the Whytecliffe Collection will add significant Czech rarities to the sale.
For world paper money our NYINC auction will present the Ellicott Collection of Panama Bank Notes (one of the finest ever assembled) and the Scott Lindquist Collection that specializes in Norway and Ethiopia notes. Other notable cabinets include the Paradise Collection of notes from Central and South America, the Ricardo Collection with numerous highlights from around the globe and the Rosenman Collection of Venezuelan paper money.
