This week, I get the pleasure of writing about a very interesting medal: the 1783 Libertas Americana medal struck in silver. This medal will be offered in Part I of the Sydney F. Martin Collection a featured collection in our August 2022 Global Showcase Auction. It is graded by PCGS as MS-62 and it retains beautiful colors throughout. The census shows that there are only five examples that are graded finer. PCGS CoinFacts states that this medal is worth around $170,000, which is in line with our auction estimates.
