We are excited about building our April Valkenburg auction and finally hosting a show and auction in Europe! One interesting note that we will be offering is a Czechoslovakia 1920 5000 Korun P-19a in PMG About Uncirculated 50.
This is the highest denomination for the 1920-23 series. Ships are depicted traversing the Elbe River at left. The guilloche encasing the central vignette displays a lovely array of colors. A young woman wearing traditional dress is at right. The underprint consists of multiple colors and is truly breathtaking. The reverse displays an allegorical woman at center flanked on both sides by "5000" counters. The border and central design are in dark purple ink, which pops against the green underprint. No expense was spared by ABNC in designing/coloring this note. Just two examples of this type have been graded by PMG at the time of cataloging. Incredibly scarce, and worthy of a premium bid.
