On this day, 13 years ago, Stack’s sold the Keusch, Snow, and Del Zorro Collections in the November Baltimore Auction held at the Pier 5 Hotel. The highlight of the sale was lot 4176, an 1808 quarter eagle graded by PCGS as MS-63, CAC. It sold for $517,500. An 1883 Hawaiian dollar in lot 3974 sold for $138,000, as it was graded by NGC as Proof-65 Ultra Cameo. Lot 5096 was the real show-stopper: a five-piece Panama Pacific commemorative gold and silver set from 1915. All of the coins were certified and the set sold for $97,750.
