Our recent excellent
results from the February World Collectors Choice Online auction and last
week’s March 2020 auction of United States coins and paper money have shown a
tremendous amount of bidding taking place over our internet platforms. In the
current challenging times caused by the novel coronavirus, the use of online
bidding has allowed us to achieve the success that we would have expected from
a full auction room at the height of the market. This is an assuring sign, not
just for us but for the industry as a whole. The Internet allows many to spend
their time at home learning more about numismatics, as well as lot viewing and
participating in our auctions online.
As we move through the
next month or two, we understand the need to adapt our business model to deal
with more limited personal interaction. Looking ahead to the immediate future,
we have already begun processing and cataloging lots for our June World Collectors
Choice Online auction, which is shaping up to offer more world paper money than
the February sale.
I, along with Peter,
Henrik, Nirat, and our other consignment directors are available to help you
consign your world paper to this CCO auction, where you can take advantage of
fast turnaround time and a shorter settlement period. In addition, we would be
happy to discuss terms of an advance or outright purchase if appropriate.
Looking further ahead,
we are also collecting consignments for our ANA World’s Fair of Money and Hong
Kong auctions, both scheduled for August 2020. Please contact Aris@StacksBowers.Com or your consignment director for more information on
offering your items in future Stack’s Bowers Galleries sale.
