to the Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio August 2016 auction! It gives me great
pleasure to present this very special sale full of the finest Asian numismatic
items available. For many months we have prepared a sale rife with exquisite
examples and unique rarities and with every new addition the excitement of
bringing them to the auction block has been mounting. As you explore the
following pages I’m sure you will see what makes this offering so exceptional
and like me will be enraptured by coins which are among the highest quality and
in some cases had only been presumed to exist until now. In addition to the
excitement of our auction I am thrilled to be an organizing partner for the
inaugural Hong Kong Coin Show held the weekend following this sale. Coin
dealers from around the globe will be attending to offer you items for every
numismatic interest. This will be the first chapter in what promises to be a
