1934 Straits Settlements 10 Dollar

Our March Hong Kong Sale, held at the Mira Hotel,
March 25 at 1:00 PM HKT contains many highlights. To see those already featured
visit please click here.

This week’s highlight is found in lot 50464. It’s a Straits
Settlements Pick 18a KNB22a-d 10 Dollar note in a PMG CAU 58 holder that is
free of any comments. This $10 KGV design is one of the most pleasing we have
handled. The 1934 date is much more challenging than the later 1935 issue.
These notes when offered are typically barely at a Very Fine level and usually
have problems. This example goes against the norm and offers Gem appeal with
just a touch of circulation. The centering is extraordinary and the very faint
circulation is difficult to see through the encapsulation. Our estimate of $5000
to $7000 may proof to be conservative, as PMG has graded but a single note
finer.

For this highlight and more, please go to our site or
click here. Once again we are pleased to present an auction that will appeal to both
collectors and dealers, one that offers something for everyone. Many of the
items have never before been offered publicly, and others are surfacing for the
first time in decades. Please contact us prior to the auction with any
questions.
