Our official World Paper Money auction for the ANA World’s Fair of Money will feature lot 30420, an Imperial Russia P-A43 State Credit Note 5 1878 Rubles in PMG Very Fine 30. A later date, 1878, is found on this 5 Rubles State Credit Note. Arms are depicted at left on the obverse, with a crown above. The reverse of the note displays Dmitry Donskoy, who would go down in Russian history for his defeat of the Tatars in 1380 at the Battle of Kulikovo. PMG has graded just nine examples of this pick number, with this example tied for the top grade.
